Malay Pit has been a champion of rural development in West Bengal since 2009. Swadhin is a registered trust in West Bengal that focuses on medical and healthcare education for rural students. The trust’s vision is to make India a global leader in healthcare and medical education. Its objectives include developing medical colleges, organizing training and development programs, promoting social development through education, and more. Swadhin is also involved in the PMKVY agriculture and skill development program, as well as the PBSSD program of the West Bengal government, which aims to enhance the cultural, social, and economic development of rural Bengal.

Under the leadership of Malay Pit, Swadhin has been working to raise awareness among the citizens of West Bengal about health services, education, cultural, and sports activities. They have involved doctors, teachers, sports personalities, and artists in this effort. The doctors are providing e-health services, telemedicine, education, and skilling programs.

Pit has a clear vision for the growth of the GDP through agricultural sector-related activities. He intends to set up agricultural processing-based MSME units involving SHG groups and micro-entrepreneurs. He has also submitted proposals for the gainful use of Krishan Mandis (agricultural markets) to empower local farmers and unemployed youth. These under-utilized infrastructures can be used to market produce, enhance e-commerce activities with the help of educated unemployed youth, plant medicinal plants and fruit trees, and provide environmental and commercial benefits. Additionally, Krishan Mandis can be used for multiple activities for local people and eco-tourism. Despite his limited resources, he is committed to launching more sustainable initiatives for economically backward communities, with a special focus on the Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and minority communities.

He has planned to set up a Digital University to develop education system and to introduce modern technology in the education sector. Steps have been taken to make this university a reality.
